Q&A: What is the difference between a associates degree in nusing and a getting a diploma in nursing?

Question by Tiffany: What is the difference between a associates degree in nusing and a getting a diploma in nursing?
I want to become a registered nurse. I have decided that i want to get my associates degree first and then later get my bachelors. Mercer County Community College offers an Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) program and also cooperative programs with 2 different diploma nursing schools. At the Diploma schools you can get an Associate in Science Degree and a diploma from the school of nursing. Both things take 2 years to complete. I was wondering what exactly the difference is and which would be better to do.

Always opt for college credit over a diploma. This way you should be able to transfer lots of credits to your BSN.
